This week, MCI is celebrating the birthday of the late, great James Doohan, who played Scotty, the Chief Engineer in Star Trek. Although a fictional character, he has influenced many people, including a few of our employees, to pursue a career in electrical engineering. During his audition for Scotty, Doohan offered several different accents for the character. When producer Gene Roddenberry asked which accent Doohan preferred, he said, "If you want an engineer, in my experience the best engineers are Scotsmen."
